Memorabilia Art and Illustrations As decorative wall-hangings, our framed collections usually have elements of contemporary art, illustration or photography as a centrepiece. All our images are captured by fine art photographers working in situ at the archives in order to retain the colour values and resolution of the original. Also for security reasons, Osborne & Allen never remove the sometimes priceless originals from these archives.
Quality of reproduction It is important to us that our reproductions are as close to the original as possible. To achieve this, not only do we work with the very best photographers, but we also use the state-of-the-art waterless printing process familiar in the fine art world which minimizes dot gain to achieve optimum sharpness, along with light-fast inks. This has environmental benefits in eliminating the large quantities of waste water and disposal of alcohols associated with standard litho printing. Where necessary we use a variety of papers to achieve the most authentic reproduction of the artefacts.
Printed memorabilia Along with the unique hand or type-written documents, we also reproduce in our collections items of printed memorabilia – ephemera such as programmes, tickets, brochures etc., some of which are themselves extremely rare and unusual. We pay specific attention to the detail of the make-up of the original artefact.
Meticulous Research The editions are the result of detailed research carried out by our own team of developers working alongside licensors’ dedicated curators and archivists. Sifting through hundreds of documents, they identify key items to illustrate the subject’s most interesting and collectable themes. Much of this material has never before been made available for public view, let alone reproduction. Our skilled in-house designers then present these treasures to their best advantage, bringing you fascinating collections with strong visual appeal.
